1996 Accord Ex Alternator Power for Amp?????
Im reading this thing at crutchfield and it says i need to make sure my alternator can support as many amps as the reciever needs. the reciever im thinking of getting is the Rockford Fosgate 1000.1 to be used with 2 12inch Polk MM120's, would this work??

u mean amplifier right? receiver is a head unit.
well i don't know what amp rating your alternator is, but the RF amp should have an amp rating maybe around 80 amps (check it out!) if you alternator runs at like 100 amps and you are slammingyour subs with the RF amp which needs 80 amps... you will only have 20 amps to produce power for other devices.... also an amp that draws 80 amps from an alternator that puts out 65 amps... is not good |
