91 plymouth voyager starter
3.3L V6...
how big of a job is it to replace the starter on this vehicle? i've replaced starters before, and on some it's a BIG job, and on some it's a quickie. the problem i'm having, is the solenoid is clicking, but the engine is not turning over. every once in a while, it will turn over, but those times are coming few and far between. please verify that this is a starter issue. thanks! |

Re: 91 plymouth voyager starter
I would start with the battery and the battery connections before I would tackle changing out the starter. Be sure the ground is good and that the battery is producing adequate voltage. If it turns over sometimes the solenoid could be going bad but it sounds more like an intermittant ground to me. If you need to change the starter they are not too hard to change as they are located in the front of the engine and are fairly unobstructed to get to. Simply remove the wires from the solenoid and then remove the starter bolts. You should be able to remove it at that point. Remember to disconnect the battery terminal before you start.
