I try not to spend more than $50 a month now but I used to spend way more!!

an easy way to save money is let ur model last.

eg: paint one part, leave for a whole day to dry...

so far, on my fc, i've spend 10 on paint, 15 on primer, 10 on clear (tho i save the primer and clear for next model) and for the paints, around 10 (but paint is reusable)...

the kit itself will proly need another 3 bottles of paint, thus makeing it all up : 30 + 35 + 10 + 10 = 85 dollars.... but next model will cost about 50.....

....... ok, i think i rambled on too much, but basically i plan to spend 1 - 2 months on the model, (so far spent about 3 weeks)

I spend around AUD$50 per month. I used to spend more but have cut back. I am trying to reduce it even further over the coming months

Some of the import companys should really work on the North American market.

My LHS posted a story printed in an industry mag about the tuner model boom. Some of the points covered were a lack of ability of the domestic model companys to quickly address the demand with their own product, and a lack of a good broad range distributor of import hobby products.

I don't spend all that much anymore, because I've already made all of my "big" purchases (compressor, airbrush, about a hundred odd kits). Most of the money I spend now is in parts and supplies. However, whenever I see an interesting kit and have the money, I usually pick it up.

This is why I'm on a first name basis with the fine folks at Parma Hobby.

during the summer i was regulary spending over £200 a month on kits and paint.

But i vowed to actualy build all the kits i bought so now only spend about £50 a month on supplies.

although i do keep spending large sums of money on rims and kits from joeclaw, but that doesnt count inmy head because he buys them and i just pay for them, hehehehe, there is logic there somewhere im sure!

but in 2003 i spend in excess of £2000 on kits and supllies and other crap.
hoping to reduce that more this year

Well, I spend about $20-30 a month. I get real help from my local Schuck Auto Supply. I got a commercial account there and get about 5-25% of retail prices + sometimes manager gives me extra discount (I used to work there a while ago). Then there is a thing like a "price match". Man, I just love it. You can't even imagine what deals I get. Also I'm on the look out for damaged and discontined parts. Like my next project (Eclipse) I've got only for $6, because someone opened the box and took the top cover of the box somewhere else - I go to manager and get my $6 deal. I love it
