In reference to braking and turning at the same time, keep this simple rule in mind: your tires can only do 100% of anything at one time. Whether it be accelerating, braking, or turning, you need to moderate your responses so that you aren't doing "100%" of any two (or three? ) of them at once. Just think of a law of balances, and how breaking traction with the pavement, especially at high speeds, can be BAD.
