Which is better BG sycroshift II or Redline Heavy duty gear oil?!?!

Ive narrowed it down to these two fluids to drop into my TRE tranny. Right now im using gm syncromesh but its not doing so good, my shifts are very rigid and not smooth at all. Let me know which you guys prefer!

I used GM Syncromesh, never had any problems, that's what i prefer. But, if you look at who the fluid is made by, you'll find that most of these are made by the same place and repackaged by different companies.

Shep told me this himself.

**EDIT**
Actually, if I remember correctly, I believe he also told me to use the Redline in the transfer case and rear differential...

But doesn't Shep say not to use that? Is it different for race trannies rather than street ones? I don't think Kevin has ever posted on this topic. It'd sure be nice of him if he could.

Yes, please tell us the best one lol. I plan on changing my tranny fluid in ~300 miles along with my oil/plugs.

Re: Which is better BG sycroshift II or Redline Heavy duty gear oil?!?!

Shepherd told me that the best thing for ANY of our trannys is Pennzoil Synchromesh. He has tried a lot of fluids and has determined that this is the best thing to run in them. Whether it be stock or a full blown race tranny, they all run the best on it.

Re: Which is better BG sycroshift II or Redline Heavy duty gear oil?!?!

The only thing i worry about using the BG product is the shock protection, is that stuff thick enough to withstand high temps and hard shifting? The engineers at Redline told me to use a 50/50 mix of MTL and MT-90 so you can have a viscosity with a GL4 rating (which is what our cars take), i think BG is GL5.

Why don't you just run Pennzoil Synchromesh then?
