If you cut that bracket so that it doesn't support those tubes any more, after your done, do something to support those tubes (steel wire around them and the bracket?). There would be alot of vibration and strain on the ends of the tubes without that bracket. Personally, I would bend them enough to get the manifold clear. Talk to that other guy first and see how he did it.

Instructions
first thing remove the front radiator hoses the three that go to that braket you were talking about. remove all small vacum lines from the F.P.R and the front braket. behind the throttle body thare are more hoses to remove and a small fuel line(I think its fuel) going parrallel with the engine. Remove that too. disconnect the distributor and air intake pipes to the mass air flow sensor. now we can remove the 4 long bolts to the intake and the bolt you have circled in red just unbolt it. In picture #3 remove that bolt. Right ubove that bolt in your picture thare is a braket holding a cable under that braket thare is another nut to take out. you can get to this two ways if you have a torx bit thare is a access hole you can go threw or just remove the braket. thare are two more bolts on the other side of the throttle body remove those as well. on the pass side you. disconnect the cold start vave and start removing hoses.(mark them as you take them off this is my mistake and now I can't get them back together correctly) remove the two studs that hold on the egr valve. two nuts is all you need. that should be all you need to remove the intake manifold its all I needed.

heh, that's correct
 all those hoses and pipes = extra headache; i'll try to work around that bracket first, if I can't, I will follow the lead of Maddhatter as soon as it gets warmer again
