Ever since seeing one a few years back I've wanted one, and I missed out on one last year. I personally know of 4, and have been given a mini-education by MSO on possibly how many may be out there and what info is in them, and it's quite rare although not as rare as I first thought.

I've only got some crappy iphone shots so far as I honestly haven't had the time to fully immerse myself in it yet, but there is some cracking info and drawings waiting to be pored over...

That's what intrigued me about this and made me really want it, and since the end of August when was first made aware this was available I've been getting incrementally more excited as each day passes :)

Some more - it may take a while to get through all this, as there is a lot of technical info in there :). The pictures are a little fuzzy and off-kilter as I want to keep the documents in their original sleeves for safekeeping

Ha! I cant really justify keeping on to the 100+ lapel pins I have - rather than them gathering dust somewhere I thought I can let others enjoy them.

The Handbook was a fair few £'s and my lapel pins are only very few £'s - I'd have to sell most of the pins to cover the cost, but I am fortunately in a position not to have to sell in order to buy :)

It was a largely tongue in cheek remark Greg and have no doubts that you are not that hard up :biggrin:
One hell of an excellent purchase anyway.

Have added a rather special Mclaren F1 Press Pack. It's on page 146 of Driving Ambition, bottom right hand corner. It's a Press Pack given out to people who were invited to attend the Monaco launch, and contains Press photos, Slides, lots of info on Mclaren headed paper, an A4 folder and a pass to get in to the F1 Launch itself :)

I hadn't seen one for sale before, and when the price was closer to what I was willing to pay I gave in and bought it :)

Greg, I have keep an eye on one of the Finnish auction pages, incase that appears there someday. Very much possible.

One of those AutoXpress magazines was an image where they sold those. At least 8 different Helsinki Thunder pins were made those days seems like it. I don't know any else than that what I have front of the #19R in the vitrin. I wish I could have them all that weekend but fortunately at least one I have. :)

I had my eyes on that, but knew it would go for more than what I wanted to pay. It looked like a nice clean example too. I hope the buyer takes care of it and appreciates it for what it is :)

Looking back isn't always the right thing, but at this moment I'm sad I didn't bid that winning value... Patience and hopefully next time a bit more luck.

That price was good for the watch - what with it being a TAG watch as well as its connection to the F1 it has cross-over appeal so there would have been at least 2 markets for it. The way the prices are going I'd be very lucky to afford one any time soon

It was about what I expected it to go for, maybe a little high since it really should be in the round leather case. I have acquired the proper case for mine and still have the box that one was pictured with.

It's a neat thing to have but I am really not a watch person. I have worn it just a couple of times but it mostly just lives inside the box. I would seriously consider selling mine for that price if anyone has the itch.

After recently seeing my collection my friend wanted one of most things I had duplicates of, as well as seeing If I could find him another LM Press Pack. I told him I knew of 1 more for sale, but it would take a little while to prize it from the sellers grasp, but the transaction was relatively straight forward and the delivery was, in the end, speedy :)

Both packs are as comprehensive as each other [all the text on the original Mclaren headed paper, all the information on the cars, the text from Ron Dennis's speech when he introduced the car, the 6 slides, LM lapel pin, the 'Pursuit of Perfection' video and write up etc].

For you serious collectors of all things McLaren the Collectors Studio has for sale an original F1 Toolkit and Owners Manual price is described as substantial, any takers, Greg?
