I think seeing as the Michael Cotton book wasn't in the brief headline description, just in the main body of text it missed alot of peoples radars

Yes - finally a copy of "GTR" but of course not the cover I was really hoping for. It will certainly do for now - that was a long overdue addition to the library.

I am most excited about a few of the press kits. I don't normally seek those out but they will definitely be great additions to the collection too. I really thought that my mediocre bid wasn't going to be nearly enough to win the auction. I thought for sure someone who didn't already have many of those items would add things up in their head and decide that the whole lot was worth quite a bit more. There are of course some very deep-pocketed F1 enthusiasts out there. Imagine my surprise when the email arrived stating I had won! :thumbsup:

I do wonder if the current owner of these items has ever found our forum? I will be asking him about it when I forward payment later on today.

Good news Erik, and yes I saw it too late the GTR book was involved too... I'm looking for it for such a long time already, whish I can add to the collection one day.

Well if I ever find one with the Gulf cover to buy and the timing is right for me then the West covered version will need to find a new home. I will keep you in mind. :)

exactly the same here; this weekend I got the confirmation from Amazon, order cancelled and bought a DA locally for just € 25 (without poster) for a friend.

Even cheaper ! nice, I paid 36€ with poster.

I've just done some consolidation and logging of all my memorabilia. So far, without going in to my Dads loft to check out all the 1/18 models and in to my sons cupboard to get at all the magazines, I have 198 items

I've recently puchased these original Mclaren stickers [looks like one of them is an LM windscreen banner] :)

I very nearly bid on those myself but figured they'd be tough to display and are easily replicated with .EPS files if you wanted a sticker to actually put on something. These you pretty much have to keep between the paper to preserve the value. Quite neat though - makes you wonder what else will appear as time goes on. :cool:

I have recently aquired a Mclaren flag, currently available from http://www.bairesflags.com/mercedesbenzflags.html This is not meant to be an advertisement for them but it was the only place I found it. It came in about 3 weeks after I ordered it, in brand new condition. The reason it take so long is it is shipped from Argintina.

The material is a little thin, but if you only plan to hang it on a garage wall or somthing it will work excellently for that purpose.

Cool - nice pick up. Are the logos silk screened or is it a dye?

Wow, only £82.......

Yeah - I was surprised to see it at some lowly figure when I checked in on it this morning.

I made the 5 bids from £25-£80. I think it is ultimately worth a lot more but it just came along at the wrong time for me to bid any higher. Plus there is the "What do you do with it?" factor, and shipping was going to be an additional £50 as well.

Congrats to whomever landed it as even after my bids it was still a bargain I think.

Yes I concur all he could tell me was it was given to him from a guy who worked for GTC Motorsport so I assume it was from one of the Gulf Cars, I did put a bid in but without any evidence was not going to go anywhere beyond half the maket price of a new one.
