Wow! That is very special, never have I seen something like it. Drawings are very nice and probably are unique and exceptional for all manuals. What I wanted to say is, I am not familiar with any other manual that comes with drawings... Price? Pricey, but there are people who are interested in buying. ( Hint: us (:) )

The drawings are really quite a work of art - I met the artist and chatted to him in the MTC about both the Owners Manual and the Driving Ambition variants. He was a top bloke, very easy to talk to and very willing to share his experiences :)

If you can afford it, get it as it will only surely go up in value

Buy a cheap runaround, the car will always lose money but the tour book never will, you will for ever regret selling.

My GULF Michael Cotton GTR book found a worthy new UK home today, so I have just the WEST one left now.

I'm not going mad like I ended up doing by having 9 of the Michael Cotton GTR books at any one time, I'm just 'coasting' at the moment ;)

I haven't come across one yet, unless you know of one I may be interested in :sly: I already have the rarer Le Mans edition as you know ;) so I may also go for the less rare Owners edition if the opportunity arose :thumbsup:

OCTANE's October issue is going to be worth buying, as I have knowledge that they may be doing a piece on the Owner's Manual ;)

Just got in from a few days holiday to find the October issue on my doormat :). I'm not going to scan this one in as I want my Collectors Edition #136 in pristine condition as the article is nothing short of fantastic; buy it, read it, read it again and then sit back and think about the makings of the Manual. The writer needed an Owners Manual to write the story as well as having meetings with the designer of the Manual - Mark Roberts whom I met him a few years back on my MTC tour and he just blew me away with his story's and knowledge from the beginning moments of when XP1 started for the first time, and he was surprised and pleased to hear that I owned the Le Mans edition of Driving Ambition, as he penned that too but didn't have a copy himself - so I helped Carlton out sourcing one for him, and I am pleased (although not in any way surprised) the writer of the piece has done the Manual justice. :thumbsup:

That's a pretty strong price, especially for a West Covered one. I don't think I paid that much combined for all the copies I owned!

I've been a long-time lurker but, after visiting the 73rd MM at Goodwood last weekend, have revived my interest in the F1, particularly the GTR.

So much so, in fact, that I've decided to purchase a book. My query is how much of DA is dedicated to the GTR programme? I'm unsure of whether to spend £100 (really the maximum I'd be prepared to pay for a book) on a copy of DA, or wait and see if I can snap up a copy of Michael Cotton's book on ebay for a similar price, as I saw happened not long ago (via a link on this thread). What do you guys think?

Not a lot of DA is focused on the GTR's, but trust me when I saw you may as well buy it for the read of the car that led to the GTR's and then the final pages on the GTR's. Its a great read

Thanks. I managed to pick up a sealed copy on eBay for £90 (inc. p+p) earlier this week. Due to arrive tomorrow – I can't wait! And in the absence of Cotton's GTR, I bought two 1/43 TSM GTRs. Why not!

Probably the wrong thread to ask this but is there any news on the F1 that ended up upside down against a tree?

I know MSO took it apart with the intent to repair it. Haven't seen or heard anything new lately, but it was expected to take quite a while to fully sort it.

Looked to be in as nearly a bad state as Rowan Atkinsons car was after it's accident so not surprised it will take some time just wondered if there had been any updates apparently not.
