I don't know what to think about that whole bomb-scare thing. On one hand, you have people saying that the city overreacted but I think that underreacting would be even worse. I would feel bad for the guys that are in trouble, but they are completely unapologetic. Even though these guys see it as a huge joke they are failing to see the position they put the state in or the years in jail they face. You could say they are being idealistic but it's not like they are spreading rebel ideals or anything really worth jailtime. I love aqua teen hunger force but its still just a cartoon. The least they could do is say that they are sorry and didn't know the trouble it would cause.

IMO, it can't go completely unpunished because of the precedent it would set for those who don't think about the possible consequences of their actions, but at the same time I don't think that it should be treated the same way a terror threat might because they made a simple error of judgement with benign intentions. They were just trying to find a novel way of advertising.

I think guerilla marketing is a pretty cool idea and I'd hate to see it die from something like this. I think it might be a good idea to set up a system for it though. Maybe have the marketing firm inform the authorities that they are putting up neon signs and not bombs would avoid the huge expense it costs the state to respond to a bomb threat.

One more thing. Im seriously considering going into automotive design. I found a couple peices of information on it and I think this is something I could really get into. I know I want to work with cars and I know I want to do something creative so this fits pretty well. I'm having trouble finding colleges that offer it. It seems to usually be part of industrial design but I'm not positive on that. If you guys know of any schools in your area that offer it or know any online resources I'd really appreciate it. I'd really like to talk to someone that works in the feild so if you know of someone I can talk to or know a way I can find someone that would be also very much appreciated.

According to some people the higher ups in Boston KNEW it was a marketing scheme by 10am yet refused to back down and tell people what was up. They fucked up and didnt want to admit it. I am sorry but they are idiots and the guys who put up the signs should not be punished for others idiocy. Those signs were put up in other large cities and not one of them had a bomb scare.

I'm with Stealthee on this one. They had some here in Philly and nobody flipped out. I think it's partially the fault of our government constantly keeping our country in a state of fear of terrorism. But hey, just in case anybody ever does decide to make a bomb from a LiteBrite....at least we will all have plenty of duct tape :grinno:

I think if they prosecute them with anything more than like littering or trespassing, they suck.

I just got a 94 plymouth laser turbo FWD!! he blew the turbo up (p.o.s. ebay turbo) i just picked it up for 700 bones! I just got a evo 16g from my friend and i will be putting it all togeather when he ships it out to me! It is one of the cleanest looking 1 gen dsm's i have ever seen too!! i will post some pictures tomorrow

I think its funny how they keep calling them "small packages" on the news but in reallity there was nothing that ressembled a "package" whatsoever! have you guys actually seen what they looked like? its a flat black board with l.e.d.'s and like 6 "C" size batteries in the back.

Some little bitch tried breaking into my car during the Superbowl. Lucky for him my battery had shifted enough that the negative cable was a bit loose adn the alarm wasn't active. But the bitch must have been spooked because when I came out nothing was missing but my window had been tampered with and now is fucked up. Swear to christ I wish I had caught this bitch and made an example of him. If I'm ever there again, I'm watching the car like a hawk and gonna fucking shoot whoever comes close to it. I'm so fucking pissed that people suck so much at life, and their parents failed so miserably that they think it's acceptible to fuck with other people's cars. I can't put into words how much I wanna kill this motherfucker right now.

that was perhaps the worst game i saw, with all the f'in turnovers, other than that i thought the bears had the game in the first half, after that it all went downhill for them.
i read somewhere that theres an alarm that actually when hte door is attempted to b open, and the key isnt with a 100ft, it has flames come outfrom under the side skirt or rocker panel.
as for ur car, that sux, it does mean a lot when someone tries stealing a car, especially if they fail. it just means they suck at life, if they fail to steal it, it's another thing to add to the list as to how much they suck. i cuaght someone stealing(or attempting to)my porsche, laughed so hard when he found out the car doesnt run right now. i mean he didnt even think that u know his window is open, maybe he doesnt care.

As I look back at those four decades I realize that it was pretty sweet! Had lots of girlfriends. Got married. btw there is no overlap on those last two items :grinno: Good friends and lots of good times. Add in all the material things that I'm thankful for and an early retirement still on target (54) and I call it a good run so far. :sunglasse

OK, look at the top of your window, see that little (I don't know what to call it)...basically a little one inch long notch that holds the top of the glass against the weather stripping. The idiot tried prying that from the top. So he forced it down a half an inch and inside of the glass...instead of outside the glass where it belongs. So I pried it back up as best I could, but the top of the window still doesn't go right under it when you close the door. I gotta work on it more, possibly epoxy it back in place. The little notch is all scratch up too. I mean this guy had to have been a complete moron..because getting in isn't rocket science.

Look bro just be glad cause it could of been so much worst. and I know exactly where he messed it up. unfortunetly I dont think you'll be able to fix it 100%. can you replace it though? I forgot how its attached to the inside of the roof.

I'll try and do this without a break down but I had a bad experience today and have already ruined a door in my place so I will try and keep it at just that. I get a call from my mechanic and he tells me my car has been broken into and that I need to file a police report. I head over there and take a look. My hood was open to my engine and my deck was ripped out, sub, amp, all wires, ripped door panel so they could see if I had after market speakers in the doors (thank God I did not in the front because if they would have found some there they would have gone in back and ripped out my after market Infiniti speakers), they even ripped out my dome light breaking it and then trashed the entire inside of my car and left with the car open. Now I can not put into words right now how I feel but I think you could take a pretty good guess.

This is on the Talon. I was all set to get it back running tonight when I realized both cams were "jammed". I took the valve cover back off to inspect and everything seemed alright. I started making sure I didnt overtighten the cam caps (which I knew I didnt because I used a torque wrench). After loosening them and retightening the exhaust cam freed up and moves as it should. However the intake cam is stuck. I put a breaker bar and cheater pipe on it to try to move it and it wont budge. As soon as I loosen the cam caps is frees up and the valve springs appear to move freely. So WTF am I missing? Any help is appreciated as I need to get this thing up and running

Any chance the cam caps are on backwards? Are you sure you got them in the right positions?

They shouldnt be. I guess thats something I could try.

You know what is scary bout the bugatti is that they've said that 300 was and is possible they just limted it to the 253-255

^^ That is impressive. I know some people have had bikes that can do upwards of 300+ mph but you could not go that fast because there is a good chance you would blow off of the bike.

yeah, what happens when you get hit by a draft of wind, or hit a bug... or especially a bird... or some sort of animal in the road... damn, fastest I've been was 145 in a car... and that was pretty fast... couldn't imagine anyone with the balls to do 250+ on a bike...

I do know of one guy who was a complete dumbass and got busted for 172+ MPH on a bike, while he was drunk (WTF)....

There was a guy in Montana maybe, that got busted for doing like 192 on a bike. I'll have to see if I can find the story. It happened awhile ago.

The story goes he topped it out and started gradually slowing. The speed was recorded from either a plane or a chopper. The police set up a road block up ahead and got him there.
