Engine and tranny are out of the Talon. Have to go get a tranny in the morning. Bent my 3-4 shift fork the other day. :rolleyes: Hopefully I'll have everything bolted down in and be about ready to fire it up tomorrow evening. Still need to weld the bung in my downpipe for my WB. Then I need to make the mods to my UIC for my GM MAF. Cant wait to tune it. :lol:

I'm sad its sunny and like 50 outside and the drag strip canceld today's activties due to cold and wetness. Yes 50 is cold compared the 70s we had last week and are looking to this week. But its not wet at all :(

My whole weekend blew. Was in the garage all weekend. Not one damn thing went right working on the car. I only had the clutch/PP bolted up 3 different times to have to take it back off. Lots of little disasters. I called off today for one because the car isnt completed and two I am now sick as hell because of the drastic weather changes. 60* all week long then fuckin 30's over the weekend. :mad: Go figure

We're having nasty weather here too. It was -kinda- warm during the week and now it's back to below freezing. It looks like its gonna snow too. At this rate I'll be able to take my car out of the garage by the time August rolls around :frown:

I live in Omaha, NE, my parents live in a small town with like 24k people. Omaha has a little over 1 mill people.

Messing with someone's ride is the worst! I caught a guy trying to steal my clear corners on my old Talon one time at the college parking lot. The dude got up and was so scared when he saw I caught him in the act he didnt know what to do, I messed him up so bad......and then I got scared cause he was bleeding out of his mouth so bad, I got in the car and as I was backing up I accidently ran over his arm! bad shit man!

then there was a guy in my neighborhood trying to steal my rims. The alarm would go off and I would run outside to find one or two lug nuts on the floor or loose. I set up a camera and caught him on tape. I went to home depot, bought a hammer, wrote a note telling him I knew what he was up to and that I had the tape. and I threw the hammer with the note wrapped round the handle through his bedroom window.
He got into the Police accademy last year and is now a cop, funny how things work out.

I got in the car and as I was backing up I accidently ran over his arm! bad shit man!

My baby hit 60k today. I paused for a brief moment to freeze the moment in my mind for future reference. Then I hit 130 to turn my frown upsidedown :biggrin: Still runs like a champ, spent half my work day just cruising around today...it was freaking awesome!

back window broken. a box that we cant remeber what was in it cuz she just moved and we had random things in random boxes. what we do know is my bible is gone and her $170 book from school is gone. those 2 things we know were in the box.

couple years ago someone stole my dads C5 vette...this house is being targeted. somebody watches what goes on at this house.

Yeah, my cars are getting old. The bimmer hit 172 the other day, and the Talon is at 150+ something...

I loaned out my BMW to my girlfriend while I fixed her brakes. I get the car back and the windshield is cracked on the passenger side. She said a branch hit it, and she had the branch (looked like a f'in log) in my back seat to prove it. I took the car yesterday to get a new windshield, and we yanked the old one out. Went to put the new one in, and it didn't line up :(

Turns out my car was made in June, and has a '97 windshield instead of a '96, so we had to put the old one back in, but in the process of removing it; we cracked it all the way across. I'm supposed to get it fixed right tonight though, so all's well that ends well... What's even better, it's only costing me $150...:)

I am not kidding, right now I would have absolutely NO problem with that. So much shit has been getting stolen right now. Honestly, if these social parasites can't make an honest living and have to go around stealing other people's stuff who worked hard for it then for all I care they could drive there car into a half frozen river. I am very sorry to hear that Young. As you know I had all my stuff stolen and my mom recently had her windows broken out (just for kicks since all they needed to do was break one) and my mom's purse stolen. This whole boondock saints idea is really starting to sound like a good idea.

im getting a new alarm system as soon as i get my beast back on the road. i going with one that has the pager. If i ever cought someone in the act of hurting my baby, i would shoot them in the scrotum so they couldnt breed. Theres not much that really gets me upset, but thats one thing that would absolutely send me into a fit of "temporary insanity" lol

Damn. I've never had anyone do anything to my car personally, but I've known people who put a lot of time ricing out their rides just to have them completely vandalized. Nothing even stolen, just looked like someone took a bat, spray paint, and a key to every part of the car.

Im thinking I should get an alarm too. The factory alarm on the Goat protects it against theft but not against breaking and entering or vandalism.

the stealth security system on mine doesnt work. the neon, i would pay someone to steal. and i just sold the porsche.

oh the satisfaction is grand... but limited, the Talon is built more for the 1/4... It has no power steering or A/C... I miss the feel and setup of the 3S... Even if I just had one to drive stock as a daily... They handled so much better than the BMW+Talon...

Dude you are f'in crazy... my 3S handled 10x better than my DSM... I could take the curves on my road (called Bend of the River for a reason) at a/b 130 in the 3S, but only a/b 100 in the DSM... and the DSM was dropped 2" and has much better tires on it...

the handling on the 3s are much superior to cars below our class, and most always will be. just liek the eclipse handles better than most average civics. different cars are ment for different things, eclipses werent ment to go fast cars like the 3s's(is that right 3s's) were. that's alomst like comparing the handling of an acura intergra type r to my dodge neon

thing is most people just think about specs and physics and more weight isnt good for handling. fact is there are many other factors that come into play when it comes to the handling of a vehicle besides weight. but it is also to a certain degree an opinion on what car handles best.

weight has a lot to do with handling, but if u can find ways to get the car to perform just as well as the lighter car than u've succeded. i think mitsu did that very well.
my neon handles well its 3400lbs, and it's considered the best handling car in its class and it just happens to b the most powerful at 132hp, the camry from 95 had the 2nd most of 115.
but neways, handling relies on everything in the car, from driver to tires, wheel width, downforce, everything, mitsu mixed it well and came out with a chocolate milk with out leftover mix
