Football is more tedious to watch then baseball. They spend most of the time standing around talking about what they want to do next while the announcers repeat what just happened - over and over again. Then if they haven't spent to much time standing around to get a penalty to stand around some more, they line up and push each other for a few seconds, then stand around again.

At least in baseball, the standing around is shorter, their is no clock to 'manage' and it doesn't make me want to kill the announcers.

Real men play HOCKEY. Something that you don't stand around in. Something that requires more proficiency in more skills then any other professional sports (see ice skating).

TO may or may not have tried to kill himself. If he did, then he sucks at it. If he didn't then why the hell is this a big news story?

Anyway, now that football is wasting valuable bandwidth that could be used for pre season hockey, I get a bit irritated.

Hockey is my favorite sport.... to play. I have never done ice hockey though. It can be hard to watch at times, especially for thsoe who dont follow teh game. That and at times hockey seems to have lost its luster.

Football on the other hand is easy to follow and almost as violent as hockey. With some of the recent big hits I have seen in football I would say its pretty close. I could spend an entire weekend watching football. It doesnt matter whos playing. With hockey all I can stand to watch is the Penguins and with as bad as they have been its hard to even watch them.

And yeah Morph SL3000gt got it. I am hoping to get to the track in the next few weeks.

so its 6:30am and i've woken up early to go to the track for some racing. and not that straight line shit you guys are thinking about, this is a road course! Apex Driving Academy (http://www.apexdrivingacademy.com/). it should be a lot of fun, even with my slow NA. well it better be fun b/c i got to do NOTHING friday night b/c i had to prep my car and get some sleep. at least i'll get to ride in a 600 AWHP EVO IX MR at the track. i'll try to take pics and post up when i get back.

here (http://donherring.info/FP/DHMMSR.html) are the details for this track day. as you can see by the schedule, it includes professional instruction on driving, on the track and in the classroom. finally, i'll get to learn some tricks, but i've driven country back-road twisties enough to know something :D.

on friday 10am, me and my friend were driving home on his new 96 red ESI talon. a 911 passes us at about 7mph more than us. there is a stop light ahead and it turns red so the 911 stops first and we are about 4 carlenghts behind. I told him to pull up next to him and to represent mitsubishi but he is scared at the 911 turbo. I called him a little bitch because he did not line up the the 911. then he keeps on talking and blah blah blah blah.

You guys would never guess where I've been the past 2 days.....give up??

Well, some of you may have read the thread about the whole brake deal with my friend's car and on that thread, I mentioned that I was feeling sick by the time the day ended. Turns out that that little "sickness" would send me to the ER Sunday around 2 in the morning...

During dinner Saturday night, I wasn't feeling well so I didn't touch anything that I ordered at the restaurant. I went to bed but was in and out of the bathroom every 5 to 15 minutes so I called the hospital and explained my situation to them and asked if I needed to come in (yeah, I'm leaving out details as it's kinda gross). They said “yes” so I went in there thinking that they'll just get some samples, give me some medication, and I'll be out of the hospital in 2 hours tops. After some initial observations, they start pulling blood and hooking me up to IVs and other types of liquid while I sat there confused. Then they stick this tube from my nose down into my stomach to pull samples and wouldn’t let me drink any water. By this time, I’m sitting there freaked out since I don’t know what’s going on so my first question when the doctor finally came back was “am I dying?” Scary thought as the doctor explained to me that I was bleeding internally inside my stomach...

So I stay in the hospital the entire night and eventually get transferred in the morning to a different hospital where an endoscopy was done. The results were that I got some type of bacteria in my system called H. Pylori which caused an ulcer in my stomach which in turn caused the internal bleeding inside. The doctor said I lost a lot of blood, 6 units to be exact, and was afraid that I may need to have a transfusion but they wanted to avoid that if all possible. However, they had the big IVs poked into both arms in case I may need the transfusion as my blood count was very low...

The entire incident wasn’t great but I must say that I was very touched by the level of care that everyone gave me. I mean, I’m just “me” and yet there were so many people running back and forth caring for me--helping me to the bathroom, hooking me up to IVs, bringing me food, taking my vital signs, always asking if I needed anything, etc etc. Not sure if it was because I was young and not grumpy like the other patients or if everyone is always that caring, but I must say I felt special there. What made things “better”...well...I had two cute nurses caring for me and a hot doctor! LOL I kid you not...I think she’s an intern which explains why she looked so young. But seriously, whenever she came into the room I would start blushing...especially when she would start checking my body. LOL

Anyways, just thought I’d let you guys know what’s been going on...hope everyone else is doing good... Stay healthy (never thought these words would mean so much ‘til now)!

bro, sorry to hear about your maladies. that really sucks. but at least you have the comfort to know that our hospitals do a very good job, and that professionals are just that.

in june i had my tonsils removed and my deviated septum (in nose) repaired. i stayed overnight in the hospital, and was very comforted by the amoutn of attention and sincere service all the orderlies, nurses, and doctors gave. and yes, there were a certain few hoTT nurses and interns. i guess i'd rather have a hot intern working on me (such a comforting and pseudo-sexual feeling) as compared to an intern who took a nose dive off the ugly tree. haha, i'm a dick.

so, at Lowe's i found a great deal. and since we all know women, it is a known fact that in order to save money, you have to first spend it. well Lowe's sells some nice Kobalt tool chests. and there top of the line Kobalt tool chests have the ball bearing drawers and precision control door locking mechanisms. and they're professional size, 40" wide. only thing is that they're simply an eyegasm, priced at around $1,000.

but what's that? clearance? price reduced...twice! yes, oh yes. i picked one up for $287. booya! here are some pics:

my humble work closet:
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g236/Linebckr49/3000GT/DSC02517.jpg

filled with clutter, but its very organized, usually. i just had to throw it all in last night b/c i was tired. i built a heavy duty table for the Kobalt tool chest, but i'm only half finished as i still have to put the plywood in for the lower shelves.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g236/Linebckr49/3000GT/DSC02520.jpg

and the big dog. Kobalt tool chest. it almost dwarfs the size of my work space. the other 2 workbenches are filled with tools right now as i have to re-organize, but it all fits....barely.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g236/Linebckr49/3000GT/DSC02521.jpg

a random movie of my 2 dogs. the white one (jack russell terrier, very Very smart) knows that a camera emits a flash of light, and she goes crazy over flashes of light whether its from a laser pointer, flashlight, camera flash, light reflecting off a dvd, anything. so she's jumping at the camera, tell me to set the flash off. the other dog, 1/2 jack russel-1/2 shnauzer, lacks the clever wit of a full jack russell: she recently ate some gorilla glue and had surgery. sadly, i don't think any dog ever learns its lesson.

Spent a few hours last night soldering wires under the hood...which is apparently a tad more difficult after 14 beers and a burnt out garage light. So under the less than adequate illumination of 2 flashlights I got everything finished and managed not to burn myself or anything important under the hood. Going for my new registration right now, and then taking it out for what hopefully will be the last test drive linked to this fuel injector circuit. (fingers crossed)

Eh, well the electrical gremlin is still around. I took it on a test drive, pulled up to the gas station, filled up and checked my tire pressure. Pulled out, passed a playground, decided to boost and BANG! I checked the rearview for pieces of my car, but apparently it was just a monstrous backfire. Half the kids playing were staring, while hte other half were ducking for cover, and I'm pretty sure there were flames, as the lady in the Taurus behind me gave me PLENTY of space for the next few miles. Anyway, CEL came on again, but again I think I've figured it out...gonna try a new resistor pack...at this point I think i've replaced everything else short of the MFI.

Heh, so I got the car back on the road last week. Took it for its first drive Wednesday night. Drove it to work on Thursday. Called off on Friday :D, went for some nice rip tear rides Friday night. Car was doing great. Went for some more rides over the weekend. Took it to work on Monday. Going flawless. I even did a 2nd gear launch and managed to put the tires up in smoke.

So I go to pick up this girl I have been going out with lately. Shes excited because she has been bugging me for a ride in the car since we started talking. Anyway I press the clutch to downshift to turn into her road and BAM straight to the floor. No clutch whatsoever.

I force it into gear and ride 2nd out till I get to her house. So I I am a little irritated about that but figure I can baby the car to finish the night out. To make it worse I pull in and before I am even out of my car her dad is almost at the side of my car. I look over and just say F%#K really loud in my head. I had never met the man before so I was only imagining what he was gonna say or do. It was typical "dad talk" Whats your name? Take care of my daughter, etc etc. I am glad he didnt ask my age cause I prolly would have panicked at that point and lied. LOL I have no clue if he knows how old I am or if he would freak at the age difference. I just turned 26 last week and she is 19. (Okay wow Iwent waaaaaaay off tangent)

Anyway I get that over with and go to leave, not even enough clutch pedal to start it in gear without it moving. I said screw it, put it in first and started it moving with the starter. LOL The entire ride was adventerous. I had to laugh though. I look over and see her holding onto the handle everytime I go to shift. I asked if I was scaring her or something. Shes like "No, I just feel bad cause you are hurting your car"

I had her laughin at me a little later because I was kinda petting the dash talking to the car. I said something like "its gonna be ok. I'll get you fixed up soon"

So to try to wrap up the story I get her back home, get teh car home and into the garage. Start to try to bleed it and find the leak. On the NA's the line goes from the master, along the firewall, to a rubber line, into a clutch damper, out the clutch damper and to the slave. Well where it comes out the damper is where the leak was. It essentially blew the line out. After some research I found I could do away with the damper and damn what a good choice that was. The clutch is so much more responsive now than ever. I got a temp fix right now but plan on getting some braided stainless line to replace the old rubber line and run it straight to the slave.

So yeah thats my long ass story about a forced "upgrade"
