How did you find AF?

How did everyone get here ????? I got here one day b/c some guy named Igor Imed me out of the blue and started talking to me and told me about this place called AF at first i was a little cautious b/c i didnt know who this guy was and why he was telling me . Soon after that i became a mod on Af and here i am :D I think it was meant for me to be here .....its kinda like my home ...all thanks to Igor ;)

Well I got to this place throu supercars. I searched for a new home 'cause supercars was kind of @#%^ and after Shaman closed his forum to the wide world I came here with some doubts but meanwhile they are gone I think this place is and will rock also in the future:bandit:

started posting on the infiniti G20 forum due to www.g20.net =)

Igor posted at carforums.com about this place, saying he was looking for mods. I e-mailed him, and soon the place opened.

I followed a link from G20.net

I visit that site for info from time to time, and then I saw this new link . . . so I figured: "GERONIMO!!!!" . . .

Here I landed and this place is the shiznit . . .

Like I've said before, I got here when I saw somebody's post in SHO. Long story short, I got really curious as to why this board was censored on SHO. A few minutes later, I'm here and registered as a new member.:D

What are all of the people from CF names? I've heard names from thier and that's where my story begins. I was surfing the net for some cars one day and then Carforums.com showed up, I clicked and then soon registered. I was unsure about message forums but tried it. After a while (Dec 2000) CF began to suck because it kept changing too fats (10 new Posts a Minute) and AF was being talked about by the others. I decided to go here cause it was new and it sounded more youth-oriented. I guess it is and I like it so much more than CF. I just want to be one of those guys someday who is a car god and has been at a forum since the start and has 8000 or so posts.

I couldn't remember for a long time... it came back to me recently.

I was searching the web for info on the Silvia Varietta (stupid Fresh Alloy!) and Yahoo gave me a link to igor's other site. There was a link to here from there. Smart guy, that igor; knows how to use the search engines!

So how did you find AF? Were you refered by another member?

I was looking around SH boards and I saw a post with this link on it, so I took a look and I liked this board. So I sign-up.

I am a member at carforums.com and about 6 months ago someone there posted a link to this place saying it was really good. I didn't bother even checking the link because I had no interest at that time in visiting another site.
Then, one day, this mysterious fella added me to his ICQ list. I had no idea who he was but we started talking. He then asked me to check out his site and I did. That fella was Igor and here I am. :)

I must say, i've made the switch from there to here. its a lot more wider thinking tank here. i was sick of the "my car is better than everything so lets only talk about it" mentality. Ive seen GOD there a few times i think, he'd agree.

one day i was looking on google for car videos and one of the hits that came back to me was AF, so i clicked and here i am. i stayed because the conversation is much better than the old message board i used at www.toyotaoffroad.com i still haven't found those videos though...

Once again, another 'AF in general/off-topic' thread I didn't know existed. I wrote this to Jay, and he suggested that I post it here:

I don't even remember signing up for AutomotiveForums in the first place. I don't even really know how I got to this site. All I remember is that one night I was unbelievably plastered with fuming alcohol breath, and I went online, and then my memory draws a blank there. This happens every so often, and I usually just talk out of my rear-end to my hometown buds online, but I must have gotten extra bored that night. The next day, when I went back online, I received an email notification for a response to a post, from AF. So I went to go check it out, thinking that it was just junk email, and lo and behold: there was a post, written by morpheusxiii. At first I thought, who in the HECK has my exact name?! Thinking it could have been one of my friends messing about, I tried calling some them, but I ended up with no results. So I started to read the post, and I began to think more and more it could have been from last night. Then I checked morpheusxiii's profile and it was all accurate, birthdate and all. So I laughed to myself, and then I thought, HOW did I get here (end up linked to AF)? I still don't really know for sure, but it didn't bother me for long, since now I'm pretty hooked...

Ahhh.. the things we do in an intoxicated oblivion...

Well, it is time I finally respond to this post. Allthough I was not drunk when i found AF, i still dont know where I found it. I have have thought, and thought, but still, nothing. My mind is a blank on how I ended up here. Oh well I say, its fun anyways. :D

I saw it in SCC and was like what the Heck lets check it out.. and here I be... wasting all my valuable work time..:D

Same story as LK, except I wasn't lucky enough to get PM'd. I just ventuered over here after been with CF since November 2000.

Boy, are you lucky. My significant other (with whom I live) hates that I spend too much time on AF. Now it's gotten worse since I play GT3 while posting between races. All I need is another TV to leave on Speedvision... :p

I honestly can't remember!:confused: I know it was linked to a post in a forum, and I think it was FreshAlloy, but I'm not positive. I started reading about the Skyline GT-R, and after a bit of browsing, noticed there was a section for the 240SX. I got hooked. I've had a very warm welcome from SilverS2000 and the forums seem to be picking up a bit, so I thought I'd stay:D

Ahh, I see what you mean now. My female counterpart actually did create an AF username at one point just to see what all the hubbub was about (hell if I could ever remember the name), but that ended with a single post. :p

Hmm I don't remember, I beleive I was asking some one about modifications for my wifes G & some one spated out this place never left since I am hooked I am here about 10hrs a day!

What brought me here: Sport Compact Car
What kept me here: Most people being open, intelligent and nice. That and this board has so many cool options! :D I used to be a member of gamefaqs.com, but it isn't near as well run/modorated/anything as AF. I love that you can see avatars and sigs and attach pictures and do this :cool: How cool is that?!?
By the by, Igor, this is the best run vBulletin, nay forum/board/whatever I have come across. Kudos for you!

I completely love this place. I went out and bought a 5-spd G20 that I couldn't even drive.
