as many are interested in the SR engine I thaugth lets make a list were you can get it (including im-/export companies who sell it)

Neishlin Motors (http://www.neishlinmotors.com/)
Heavy Throttle Performance (http://www.srswap.com/)

that's for the start if you know others please post it

PS: If anyone's handy with japanese maybe get some J site who deliver it to the rest of the world (why not get it were it comes from:confused: ).

Let the search begin:bandit:

I purchased my engine from Jspec Auto(s13). Right now they are the cheapest I have seen and they send you everything (including an intercooler). Only 1599$ for engine + 350$ shipping anywhere in the U.S. Now I haven't dropped the engine in yet (car is still in the body shop for s15 conversion), but everything seems to be in order. The ECU is right there, they messed up my order a little, so they sent me a side mount trust intercooler. They included harness, but I haven't checked to see if it was cut or not. Heavy throttle is great also. Someone should list which sites are good, not just who sells the engines. After all what use is the motor, if they cut up all the wiring and butcher the ECU.

I personally, this is if your doing swap yourself as I plan to do, would rather buy the whole front clip... now I didn't look at all those links so I can't know but does anyone have good sites were they sell the front clips? more in particular a 180sx front clip would be best but a S13 coupe clip wouldn't be that bad either. Also what are the differences between the red top and black top. I already know the years and models they came with, blacks will usually have less miles etc... But are there any other real differences? I heard something about the intake setup on the engine being a bit different and its better on the red top if your going to make serious HP. Are the Pistons and compression ratios all the same?

was the 1599 for the complete engine/tranny/ecu and everything else? or was that for the engine alone.
Also, I don't think that they make side mount trust intercooler's. they might but I don't see why anybody would make an intercooler so small when they could just sell the customers huge front mount intercoolers.
About your harness, you had better hope that it's not cut or your kinda out of luck and better be looking for another harness. If it was cut from the car then it may be ok but if it was cut from the engine then your screwed.
Got any pics of your car?

This was just covered in this thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t46006.html)
there are no differences between the S13 Redtop and the S13 Blacktop. If your talking about the S14 Blacktop then yes it is different in that it had 217hp compared to 202hp. the S14 blacktop had a larger turbo on it so if you planned on maxing out the stock turbo then the S14 blacktop can be made to push out more hp then an S13 black top could. Yes the pistons and the compression ratios are the same for the S13 SR's

jspec Sileighty. I believe that it was cut from the car, not the engine, it's still wrapped up and it will stay that way until I get the engine in. No pics of the car yet as it is still in the body shop. I also did get everything needed with the swap (including the TRUST sidemount intercooler.) If you don't believe me, I can get pics of the engine in about a week or so. Although It may have been painted on, but I don't see why someone would go through all that trouble. I will gladly post pics of the entire project once it is done. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that JspecAuto also offers a 60 day warranty on the engine.
