Girls, Get Over Here!!!

Fellow chicas: Do you have any other girl friends who like cars... even a little bit??? I want to see how many of us we can rally. I voted in a long-lost poll on how many of us are women in here... but it's hardly worth finding the thread to link it.

Guys, this goes for you, too. Get all the car-liking girls in here. I know there are more of us out there, and I think it'd be fun to meet them.

Not that I can think of. I have very few female friends and they are into foofy things like rubber stamp clubs and crafts :apuke:

I am one who'd rather hang out with the boys and get dirty working on cars than sit inside knitting......but that's just me :alien:

Actually, I"m looking to head up an all girl's forum!!!! Igor has approved so long as we can provide enough estrogen to make it worth his while. Then us girls don't have to be afraid of looking dumb asking questions!!!!!!! ;)

Its not really my place, but I am against an all-girls forumn. I think that all AF'ers should stick together. No one has to worry about looking dumb cause of asking dumb questions, Im not a girl but I ask dumb questions all the time, and everyone helps with as little critisism as possible, :rolleyes: sometimes a few jokes tossed in, but its all in good fun.

Thats sexism at its worst! Restrictions based on gender - bad news. But in seriousness, excluding people (gusys) who might be able to answer the questions your suggesting be put in there seems to defeat the purpose of asking them.

So this girls forum would be for women? Does that mean only women can post there or only women can read the posts? Obviously you cant have one that only women can read, its a simple matter for someone to come up with a new account (ip asside, I work from several different machines during the week) and the same goes for posting. From the sounds of things, its just another off topic forum with a different title.

If thats what our esteemed head honchos want to create then so be it, I'm just argueing the premise for the forum is a bit dubious.

Not that I am a girl, but I'll chime in to tell about a friend of mine who's a girl and looooves cars. She's awesome! She knows all this stuff about Honda's and Integra's and I'm a member of her car club. Definitely not a ricer and really knows things about cars and their performance. I've been wanting her to join AF, but since she moved away to college I haven't seen her. :(

I have no clue. Im pretty sure that was the whole point of Jay posting that link tho, to show that there are ways for ppl to be excluded from certain parts of AF, like only allowing certian ppl to view / access that forum bc they are added to some sort of allow list of something.

Im just grasping at straws here.
