Repainting Steelies

Aight so my friends are all rusted, and its cheaper to just roll black than to buy new caps, and I got a sandblaster ... so what paint do you guys reccomend?

if you are going to sand blast them, I would get some really good spray paint, and clear coat, and do nice. Take the tyres off tho.

wouldn't taping the hell out the sides do the same thing? With some masking tape and newspaper?

you could do that, it is jus easier to paint them without tyres. and if you ever put tyre dressing or armorall of somthing on your tyres, it will be hell trying to tape them off. it's up to you.

We got 2 coats on em as of now ... would have started earlier this afternoon but we had to chill at sublimewls's house for like 3 1/2 hrs waiting for a delivery ... anyways on with the pics ... we chose not to mask off the tires since he is getting new ones pretty soon anyway.

Sublimewls working on sandblasting

Got the 95 ex propped up on jack stands and the accord rims

We couldnt get the car high enough so we dug down

This came out real blurry for some reason

Blastin the inside

Some before pics

Pic of the table and sandblaster .. the compressor is about 30 feet away in my dads workshop

A few pics once the blasting was done and we were getting em ready to paint

You can see me going at the painting

After the first coat

Since we started so late we want the rims to dry ... so off to york2600's to borrow the GSR rims ... tight fit but we got all 4 of em in the back seat of the foe doe

Got the front of the GSR on jackstands and the back on the accord rims ... damn these are getting a lot of use

Gee Melt, you broke the jack and now we cant get the car high enough for these rims ... at least your dad is smart enough to think of putting a block under the jack

Couple pics of the 95 EX on GSR's ... looks pretty good, he might buy these if york2600 ever buys new rims (which will probably be never since he will be broke after the crvtec is done) Damn I look tall in this pic

Anyways there you guys go ... pics of em on the car to come tommorow.

And if anyone is interested in more pics of the GSR and progress on the swap can be found here.

You know, you could paint the tires black too, keeps 'em lookin' new, and they're 2x as easy to clean. My friend did it to his tires, and they always look clean.

too late for my advice, but ive seen rims painted with that color change paint from duplicolor red/blue and they looked sick!

but your black rims will look hot too.
