How To: Scratchbuilt Wing/spoiler

When I was buying my intercooler supplies I thought it would be a waste to spend $13 on something I wouldnt use again. I saw that people were asking how to make wings so I took my styrene and made a wing.

Materials:
Super Glue not Model Glue
.030 Plain Styrene sheet
X-Acto knives
Cereal Box
Ruler

1. Take a cereal box and cut out each different piece of the wing.



2. Take your cardboard pieces that you cut out and trace them on the .030 Plain Styrene sheet.



3. Cut out all the styrene pieces with a knife.



4. Cut slits into each end piece so the middle pieces can fit snugly in the slits.



5. Cut slits in the bottom piece for the stands (legs) to hold the bottom up.



6. Make sure everything fits perfectly (unlike mine since I rushed) and use superglue not model glue to hold all the pieces secure.



I hope this helps everyone that wants to make a wing, keep in mind that I rushed through mine so mine is kinda messy.

sick i used to make mine out of tin then sotor them together no i can make tons of them and fast but the only problem is i live in toronto and i have no idea where to get styrene sheets

There should be some at a hobbyshop, the styrene I use is Evergreen .030

LMAO it's funny because it almost gives you the idea ogf ghetto wings but with some sprusing up it will be perfect.

I like the part about the cereal box, although before I place things on to my stylene, I've always used note cards, or oak tag.

I've previously made a Touring wing out of stylene on my Accord, but this write-up can help others, as well as me.

Question, how does these self-healing matts work, I got one, but never found out how they work, anyone know how?

Although an alternative to using a cereal box would be to draw on masking tape, cut out then stick directly onto plastic sheet and cut out.
