Hmm...the answer is "depends on driver"
eclipse has 5 speed with 200 hp with 200 torque whereas celica has only 180 hp but with 6 speed and much lighter....but most of magazine post better quarter mile for eclipse than celica. However celica handles way better than eclipse. I know that because I own 2000 eclipse GT and my girl friend has 2001 celica GT so I drive both cars all the time. Although I have eclipse, I like celica better because my crappy eclipse. It had so many problems for last two years and I practically drove rental car all the time. And Mitsubishi has horribly slow and aggrevating customer service.

LoL, I like both vehicles, the eclipse looks really sleak, altho i like the previous body style i cant say i wouldnt drive a new one.. I LOVE the new body style celica's... just cause its pimp as hell!
