Hi,
I am goin to install my Commando alarm system to my 1990 Honda Civic. I am ready to install it except I read that it may or may not require a starter disable relay. But in my manual it says the relay is optional. Will it still disable my starter if someone broke in? Do I need it? Thanks, Owen

HEllo. I just installed an alarm in my car with the ignition cut off. It also was optional. It connected to the thick white wire near the ignition. If it is not connected, your car should not shut off. If someone broke in and tried to steal it, the car would start right up. If you had it connected, though, the car would not start without the receiver or the kill switch. hope this helps.
