Supra?

Hey,

Sup guys... As you all can see, I'm kinda new here to the forum and just started to get into the Skyline scene. I'm more of a Toyota Supra nut than a Skyline. How do you guys think they would compare to each other. The Skyline has 4wd so it would have better low end performance and better handling right...hmmmm...what do you guys think?

Wellcome on board Danny. I think the Supra is one heelluva car. It's 3 litre engine ensures better low end response than the GTR. Added to that the sequential turbos also helps in low end response as only one small turbo needs to spool first before the bigger brother takes over.
The problem with the Supra is it's weight. Than it's traction - rwd causes the wheels to spin like mad in a sprint. The third problem is the sequential turbos.....everyone knows that when the system switches turbos there will be a serious dip in the powerband before the bigger turbo spool fully. At this point in time, the GTR would have spanked the Supra!
Before I modded my GTR to it's curent level, I had a go at 2 Supras on the track. It's confirm.....on the straight the GTR smacked them...and around corners the GTR spanks them!
Having said so, the Supra is still a Supercar!

Fully agree.

The Supra's engine has more torque stock than a GTR and the Supra also responds well to Mods.

Stock for stock a GTR will kill a Supra in every field.. (just dont post that on some Supra forums.. there will be WW3) but I am yet to see it.
Maybe on a track with some drag tires a Supra would keep up, but on the road it has no chance.

As for top speed the Supra has an advantage over the GTR. Not by alot, but I think they are more aerodynamic. I have seen numerous Supra TT's do 280kph with minor mods, a GTR will need more power.

I like both cars, but I would never choose a Supra over a GTR..

Just remember you can have all the low end toque you want, but if it does not get planted it goes up in smoke, literally. With that being said, I would love to own a TT Supra. Slight mods your deep in the 11's. Bad azz car, and looks pretty sweet as well.

Hmmm...I see. Thanks for the replies. I wish they brought some GTR's over to the states (or hope they plan to). I would love to see then run. All I see around here are Supra's and RX-7's ruling the import scene.

Yeah well when you look at the price.. imagine the Supra you could have for the price of a GTR in the USA..

Still worth having the GTR even if it is stock

Interesting... I have seen on a Option video from Japan where they tested 3 street cars. R32 GTR Supra RX7-S6. They called the Supra "Monster FR" And it lead the GTR around the circuit they raced. Supra will over take the GTR on uphills because of a much larger torque output than the GTR.

Yes... those guys do it on purpose to show off.! I think Supra's and GTR's race in the same class in the All Japan GT cup. Right?

I think you have your letter mixed up, it should say USA not AUS. That's Bryce's Supra right, I am pretty sure it was from Texas.

the R34 GT-R and SupraTT are my 2 favorite cars..... I would choose the Skyline over the Supra, but sadly since the Skyline isn't available in North America  i can't have it
So here i'd love to have a Supra
