intercooler ?

Ok my friend wants to turbo is 96 integra ls and he wants to do a custom kit himself but im trying to find the parts for him and when i look at intercoolers online they kit says it comes with all the tubing to like the throttle body and stuff so would buying an intercooler for his car supply all the necessary tubing that he would need?

If it is a kit designed for his car it will have all the parts needed to get the intercooler working.

a radiator is filled with water and uses air to cool it. an intercooler is filled with air and uses air to cool it. so unless you an engine that runs on water and gas and not air, a radiator wont work.

Ive heard of air to water intoorcoolers, how exactly do those work.

and wouldnt a radiator somewhat work cuz air will go through it and air will cool it.

They do make air to water intercooler and they work far better than the air to air kind.

He is right though, a radiator will not work. Remember that a radiator pumps water through it and and intercooler pumps air. An air to water uses water to cool the air as it passes through the intercooler. So, no, a radiator would not work.

oh

oh, I thought it was the water pump pumped water from the radiator and the turbo pushes air though the intercooler, so I thought that the turbo would just push it through the radiator.

and in an air to water intercooler, how does the air go through water without moisture being drawn into the engine?

The air and water never make actual physical contact. The air passes inbetween fins in the intercooler. The water is being pumps inside the fins to cool the air. A radiator is constructed completely different.
