Stopping Power, thought I'd share. . .

Just thought I'd share my brakes.

This is the first new brakes this car has ever had in 101600 miles, hope these last as long.

Same as stock, 11.1 inches if I remember correctly. (Rotors on a P10 are same diamater front and rear [actually if you want to get technical the rears are about 1/10th of an inch bigger than the front])

OK, here's the run down. The rotors are made by Power Performance Group (Front are made in Italy finished in USA, rears are Brembo made and finished in USA) Front rotors are 103$ each (remember these are Cadmium plated so they don't rust), rears are 76$ each. Front pads are Axxis Metal Masters 40$ for the set, rears are Auto Specialty Super-Lux and I paid 26$ for the set. I'm not sure how much the rear pads are since I ordered Metal Masters, but they couldn't source the part. I got them at Indy Import Performance, http://www.indyimport.com . I'm not sure if Luke ( http://www.digitalracer.com )can get these or not.

These brakes are direct replacement for stock (they are the same size as stock). But they are designed to resist warping, reduce fade, shorten stopping distance, etc...

Nope, they're getting put on tomorow. They were supposed to be put on Friday, but that guy that was supposed to do it had to take the day off, will post results tomorow when I get my car back. Actually my car is locked up safe and tight at Indy Import Performance right now, so I have to drive the "CAT" tomorow (this is my brothers 91 Mercury Cougar V-8 with 178K miles, and it leaks gas, as if it didn't get bad enough gas mileage already)

Thanks for that. Those rotors work out at half the price of the DBA cross drilled and slotted pieces we get here in NZ. And I'm not so fussed on cross drilling anyway, haven't seen a race car with anything but slotted rotors yet, although they are much larger rotors

Cracking Rotors. . .

Well, I wouldn't go with cross drilled anyway if you have to drive in snow. If the brakes are heated and cooled to fast they will crack if they are cross drilled.

Yeah, they on. Now that they're broken in I must say that they are amazing. Little to no fade. I took the car up to 90MPH and braked moderatly (about 50% of total force) to a complete stop, and they didn't fade. If I had done that with the stock brakes the pedal would have become stiff, none of that here. I must say that I'm impressed. The brakes are worth every penny.

So flossin, this is what you paid for everything (except instalation of course. That seems pretty cheap compared to some other brake kits out there.

Does DBA even have any applications for our cars? I asked them at SEMA about a Primera application, and they couldn't find any in their catalog, nor did they think they had any?

The Repco parts chain in NZ has just started selling DBA rotors. They do stock, slotted only, and drilled and slotted, in standard sizes for the Primera. I called them and asked and the approximate prices from memory were:

Slotted only NZ$300 each (US$123)

Cross drilled and slotted w/gold paint or gold-coloured zinc di-chromate passivate plating NZ$350 each (US$143.50)

Here's their url if you want to email them for part numbers etc.
