Back with a new part ^_^

Hey all. Been out with comp glitches, but I'm back to be as informative and eloquent as ever, and Layla has some new mods!

For starters, one of her biggest problems has always been that she runs hotter than a $30 Rolex. Well, when my Dad's Neon Sport coupe bit the dust (big bummer, since it was a 13second street Neon), he allowed me to scavenge its aluminum radiator and twin electric fans. The fans are wired into the accessor power instead of an electric thermostat, so as soon as the car is turned on, the fans start turning. It's been good for at least a fifty to hundred degree temp drop, plus it freed up about five horse in the engine because it doesn't have to turn a fan anymore.

Then there's the joy of the new starter setup. No more screwdriver under the dash for me! Layla's accessory power/ electric fuel pump is now turned on by a dash mounted red glowing toggle switch and the engine is turned over by a red button. It's the coolest thing in the world. Feels just like a classic Le Mans racer.

What do you all think?

Sounds like a bunch of good stuff to me!!! My question is...Are you going to ravage that Neon for any more parts? I'm guessing it has a turbo of some sort? You should ravage that and strap it onto "Layla"

No Self, it was NA. My Dad had it sent to a friend of his by the name of Marcus Malcuit who builds engines for most of the top Late Models in this region. Plus he had these radical profile custom ground cams installed that not only bumped power by about 50brake, but also gave it this hot sounding over-run to the exhaust. My Dad's never been a big turbo fan. Chalk it all up to a bad experience with an automatic Merkur XR4Ati.

We actually talked about fabricating a motor plate and doing a swap, but once we started looking at the electronics we decided "no".

I've always wanted at least one car that started with the push of a big red button!

Nice to see you back man!
