TT 300ZX (Z32 generation), FD3S generation RX-7, Porsche 944 or 928, 4th generation Camaro Z-28 or even SS, SN-95 generation Mustang GT, most Supras, 4wd turbo Eclipses and their Talon brethren, older Mitsubishi 3000GT's/Dodge Stealths, Buick GNX's (don't laugh, these things are killers)....
The list can go on into many older beasts that are favorites of mine (RWD air-cooled Porsche 911 Carreras, for instance) but then you need to be willing to wrench a little bit. It's fun for some, but apparently not your cup of tea.

You don't sound to concerned with all out power, but you posted in the street racing forum, so i'm gonna go with a maxima or your various sentra se-r models, but you'll have to be much more specific on what you want before we can recomend anything that fits.

So to answer your question KOR_MAX, take your $20,000... Invest $1 in a Autotrader magazine, look for something you like. If you've got a question on a particular car. Ask away 95% of the time somebody on this forum can help you, Truth of the matter is we can't tell you whats right for you. Just about any car from the mid-90's to present is reliable. But truth is no car is 100% reliable. Things go wrong... So I'd suggest looking into whatever car tickles your fancy, then see what a new crate motor for it costs. Then with that figure in mind, look for a car minus that cost plus some extra for odds and ends. So that way if you do get something that looks like it may need some work. You've got some extra set aside. For Example, If I had a budget of $7000 while looking for a Truck. A Crate 350 V8 costs $1300. We'll say its $2000 even cause there's always extra costs and random parts that need to be replaced as well. That leaves me $5000 to look for a nice Truck. Obviously, if the car turns out to be a good runner and seems like its not going to fall apart in the next 50 miles. You can spend your left over cash freely. Its how I would buy a used car that I had no idea about its history. Let us know how your car hunt goes.

i'd say Trans AM WS6 or Supra
or if you wanna corner RX7 FD3S preferably Type R but otherwise any of them will do Subaru's are too high sprung and if you mess with them incorrectly they lose power easily. 4WD's also Understeer alot RWD is better to play around with. The question is do you want straight line power with Blow off valve chirps or just a loud bubbling rumble coming from the exhaust belonging to a V8 ?

Good luck finding a Supra for under 20k that has not been torn to all hell! I say...guess...TTZ32 or the RX-7 You can find these from the low-mid to high teens. Plus you've got extra cash to throw on go fast parts! Or Octagon said a GNX...you won't find one! But, a Grand National on the other hand, you can pick up for 10k. Then you have a GN +$10k to spen to fix er' up....Neck snapping speed!
CLick! Just my 2¢

Yeah, I got my SS for $26k when it was three months old with 3k miles on it, so I know you could find a Z28, SS, WS6, what have you, with an LS1 for less than 20 now. That's just one option. There's so many good cars out there that you really need to provide more info...rather than posting a question and not responding...

Personally, I would find an MKII Toyota MR2 Turbo that was in excellent condition. They look great, fun to drive and are decently quick.
