Exclamation Flow masters on a V6 Explorer?

I was told that you are not suppose to put flows on a truk unless it is a V8, but i believe that is wrong. I got a V6 Explorer, and i want flows i was wondering if that would be alright. There are V4 cars out there that have flow masters so why cant i get them. I need some advice please!!!!!

maybe you meant a I4 but My explorer is a 98 V6 and 2 muffler shops were BEGGING me to upgrade to the flowmaster exhaust. I was like "umm ok?" It makes the explorer louuuuder and meaner sounding :-) maybe a lil like a mustang but its nice... I have never heard of any problems with a V6 with a flowmaster... by the way this is my first post here in the explorer forum. I always hang out at the civic forum since I just got it in december and am doing alot to it..

flowmaster on expl

try it...it sounds great and if you didn't know the 4.0 v-6 is Ford's performance v-6 in their european cars they sell all kinds of performance stuff going back years for it there. It sounds great just a little harshat highway speeds, but if you like a rumble it is great. kind of like a 5.0
HO sound.very mellow.almost the same as a 3.8 V-6 flowmaster conversion.

Re: Flow masters on a V6 Explorer?

Do you have a web site for these performance parts? I have been looking for headers and exhaust for my 2002 4.0, to gain some gas mileage. I have not been able to find any headers for 2002 4.0 except stock replacments.

Re: Flow masters on a V6 Explorer?

yea the 4.0 v6 is pretty stout and potent for a v6 ..I got a 01 sport.

I heard it puts out close to the v8's power in the numbers.

.....................v4 lmao......cmon man the V in V6 or V8 or V12 etc....stands for the engine type.

You mean Inline 4 cylinder- hence I4 or 4banger for short. Oh yea sounds like you better hunt around for prices before some one trys to rip u off.

just alil advice.
