92teggsr VS. KrNxRaCeR03

So we finally did meet up in Everett, checked out each others car and then decided to try to get a couple runs in. It was raining out though and there was a lot of traffic so we only got one decent run in. we both started out at 40 mph and decided to go on two honks. Second honk, second gear, we're off. I got ahead at first (probably only cause my car is geared a little lower and I was already in V-tec in second) and I had about half a car until about 70-75 (I didn't look at the speedometer) and then he got up next to me and started pulling away and had about 3/4-1 car length at 100 or so mph. We tried it from a stop but I started spinning and let off the gas and had to start out slowly so on that run he had about 3-4 cars on me. Still wanna run when it's dry though. Of course he has more torque so he'd probably get me off the line and stay ahead a little the whole way but we'll see. I still have faith in my car....I think it would be a pretty good race up until about 80 mph though and then he would probably pull away pretty good. After third gear I don't have much left....
Hopefully we can run each other on the track. May 7th is the day.
So yes his car is faster but it was all in good fun and I have no problem admiting it.

well...it is a b16 in a teg...heh...never thought i'd see the day. but his car gets up an moves...cept the only reason u got a jump was cuz u had advantage of downshifting 1st. when i drop to 2nd at 40 im in vtec. but...yea...3rd pulled pretty nicely. i think from a stop, it'll be close...but of couse i'll win

Cool race.

I too, had a b16 in a G2 Teg...my favorite bodystyle (sorry krn). You can unlock the potential of that b16 with a computer upgrade. Even better than most b18s (potential), since it can potentially rev higher more safely than a b18c1 (except the b18c5 or jdm b18c).

I know I've been able to beat similarly-equipped GS-Rs, but then again, they could beat me too.

tell me more about that computer upgrade.... can you do it with a chip or do you have to get a different ECU ? How much of a gain can you expect from that ?

Check online or your local shops. Hondata makes some awesome computers for the b16.

I happen to be local to HASport, and that's who supplied me my ECU upgrade 2 years ago.

My VTEC kicked-in at about 5200RPMs as opposed to 4300, and my redline was 10000RPMs (custom program). I do NOT advise you run those RPMs with stock internals...at least not too often.

Ahh nice race glad to see you guys are cool with the results. I have thought about getting a 92 or 93 teg and making it my race car. I hate always having to worry about getting what I am doing to my teg done so I can drive it to work the next day. Let us know how you do at the track on the 7th.

hey if it's an authentic c-west....no rice....just niiiiiice. except the extreme sides and back bumper. i'm just not sure what it looks like so i can't comment. i would rather like to see you keep your car stock, and by the looks of it your car looks great, but watever floats your boat, i'm cool w/ it. and to 92teggsr...what happened to the b17!!!!!!!!! i think 2nd gen gs-r are very cool but i think i'd probably take the 3rd (or 3.5? the 99 style?) over any other integra except for the 2nd gen gs-r......well anyways, good race guys. i'm glad the flaming ricers in this forum have cleared out and it's back to good 'ol racing......

Don't you know, it's 10 hp for every sticker, 50 hp extra for every additional inch of rear spoiler behond stock height.
