Thumbs up Problem solved (I hope)

Problem solved (i hope)
In May of 2001 got the wife one of those remote starters and after 3 weekends of trying to get this thing to work i gave up. Soldered all connections checked and reckecked voltage outputs ect. (have installed same unit 2 times before , 96 Dodge & a 90 F150) We are getting ready to drive from Maryland to Keywest Fla. when the light comes on for the first time, dealer fixes, everthing ok. Last year wife starts bugging me about winter coming "sure would be nice to have that remote starter", so i try again ,still no luck but not long after we have the dreaded check engine light. Anyway this weekend i was going to get this thing working if it took all the money ( $80.00 for unit, $40.00 for P.A.T.S workaround plus $120.00 for a extra key) found a 2nd wire for eng2, got it working and , yep the light stays off. Its only been a couple of days now but after digging into how this thing works, the pcm took those wrong voltage connections (fords can have up to 3 eng wires, eg hot on , off start, hot run , acc off, and screwed with the code output. Anyway so much for cause and affect. Up untill this weekend this light would go off and on with a mind of its own. Thanks again for your help Fordman, next time will try to remember ALL details. Will post one more time after emisions test.

Fords forever Tim

PS> Hindsight tells me mabe unhooking + side of battery might have cleared this problem, only unhooked - terminal.
