can't start car

I have a Code alarm model PC4200 on my civic. It is equipped with a power door lock feature and fuel cutoff.

My problem is that I can turn off the alarm (with the door locks opening) but for some reason I cannot start my car. I can even disarm the alarm, but I still cannot start it. I think the fuel cutoff won't disengage or something.

I don't think it's the battery because all the lights are working and are at the same brightness level as yesterday, plus the fact that I can disarm the car with the door locks opening. Anyone know what the problem is?

To this date I have never had a problem starting the car. Sometimes when it's really cold it turns over a few times more than usual, but that's about it. The car is a 99 and the stereo system is stock if that matters. HELP!!

thanks.

I know you said it could not be your battery... but i had the same problem but a diffrent alarm same features. I had gone to the gym one day, couple of hours later I was getting ready to go home so i opened the ignition and the whole car turned off. I thought it was my alarm acting up. I tried jumping it and nothing happened, so i had my friend tow it to his garage. He then told me that it may and may not be the alarm. So he checked the most obious thing, it so happens the battery cables were not connected tight enough to let the flow of current pass. you never know... let me know if you still have problems

Turns out it was the obvious thing afterall. I thought because the locks, lights and radio were working that it was definitely not the battery, but I decided to give it a jump just as a last ditch effort. And it started, so I'm going to have to get a battery tomorrow.
