im thinkin of gettin a crx

hey my 95 corolla was recently totaled and now i need a new car. i started lookin at eclipses then celicas then probes. then i was drivin in my nieghborhood and i saw this red crx. it had been sitting there for months now so i asked the owner if it was for sale. he said yes for 1600. it is a 89 dx. it is automatic. it has a remote start. etc. i was thinkin about gettin that 1 when my friend said that his friend had a white crx. he thinks its an si but hes not sure. its white and its manual. it needs a new clutch and a new head gasket which means hell prob sell it to me for cheap. under 400 maybe even 200. im not sure. but yea does ne1 know how much those repairs would be and which 1 i should get.

thnx

irregardless of the repairs you need to take that shit if its 400 bucks! new clutch, if you get a stock one like 100 bucks. labor on a blown head gasket is high like 600 and up i've heard but try to find someone that knows how to replace a blown head gasket and it will be real cheap.

yea the more i see crxs the more i like them

in the near future, when i start working 20-30 hours a week (still in school) im going to look for a cheap crx or hatch to put a zc in and later on rebuild it and turbo it.
for a little street racer/weekend car

if i were you i would take either crx but 1600 is kinda expensive i think
but, hey your money

gl on your search

Headgasket kit is something like $50 and its going to take 6-7+ hours of work if you do it yourself. If the gasket blew then the head may also be warped or cracked. Thats what happen to mine and I was quoted $1200-$1500 to fix it. I told them to shove it and got a zc

just started looking at crx's recently, only one local at a dealer, but to much for it. Found a couple 89 and 91 for about 3 grand private sellers

whatever you do don't buy anything with rust cause it'll cost too much money to fix.

Cause its the best damn lookin honda! Anyways back to the topic. Get it no matter what! If its an Si then its a great deal. Hows the body on the rex? Anyways dont bother repairin the engine. just swap in a b16 or if your low on funds and u need a ride quick then replace it with the same engine d16a6 or zc.
