to anyone who has installed hyperwhites

i keep reading in peoples signatures/mod lists that they have plasma bulbs or hyperwhites...take them out. i say this because on my g20 it caused the wiring harness and socket to fail. i have reason to believe this is due to the fact that these bulbs want to draw more power and the ground isn't strong enough to handle this. i am not the only nissan to have experienced this...my friend chad had his sockets melt out on his nx2k and my friend adam experienced thesame problem on his classic se-r. i only post this as a warning. not everyone may experience this but myself and others have. use these at your own risk. i only did for a brief period of time under the assumption that they would have the light dispersement that they advertise...they did not. that is all...bye now.

Kyle, I thought the APC harness kit handled that problem. Are U saying that the harness ISN'T the answer??

My guess is that you were running high wattage bulbs (these get hotter than standard wattage bulbs). I have used Xenon charged bulbs for over a year now with no problems.

Cool

my opinion only but....hyperwhites or HID lights are way too bright. I could hardly see the road one time due to light coming from a new S2000. It's really irritating sometimes. I thought they were illegal but it looks like all new higher end cars are using these high intensity lights. (shrugs) I once high-beamed a new bimmer thinking someone had left their highbeams on...only to have him high-beam me back to show their highbeams were already off. Anyway, just my opinion.

what wattage are you guys using? if 55/60w, shouldnt melt the harness. if all harnesses melted, piaa would be out of business long time ago.
