93 ford Escort Seatbelt stopped in forward postition
My 1993 Ford Escort has the drivers seatbelt stopped in the forward postion. Intially the push rod was stuck in the track and motor did not work. I replaced the motor and repaired the track. The seatbelt motor and track work fine using external power. Why won't the seatbelt go to the lock position when I turn the key on? The passenger side works fine.

Re: Seatbelt stuck
Did you consider unplugging the seatbelt motor near the base of the motor itself, and then manually retracting the seatbelt to its back most position? The only inconvenience there is having to manually pull the seatbelt over you when entering and exiting the vehicle. The advantage in this situation is not having to deal with the motor mechanism again (can be expensive).

I would use a multi-meter to make sure there is current going to it, then you can slowly narrow down the problem.. It could just be a simple short. |
