Congratulations Michael and Sorry
It was a great race today for Michael, and he performed amazingly under the circumstances. It had a very sad mood after the race and my heart goes out to him and his family.
But it was good to see him finally win and get those 10 points. Its just to bad Kimi didnt DNF .

Michael did well to drive to the win considering the circumstances he was driving under, it was a deserved win on this sad day.
I don't understand why you would wish the worst for Kimi though, he has the potential to challenge for the championship, and the right to do so.

I was just joking around about Kimi. Thats why I put a little smiley face beside it, to show that it was all in good fun.

However, this kind of thing happens to people all over the world all the time. It is just because Schumacher is such a big star that we hear bout all the domestic details and get this big outpouring of sympathy for complete strangers. Would a big deal be made for instance if Ralf Firman's Auntie whom he was raised as a child passed away? Or the homeless guy on the street, or orphaned kids in the latest war zone? In fact the last time I can remember a similar F1 circumstance was in 1997 when Gehard Berger's father was killed in an aircraft accident (?). Gerhard came out next race and won commandingly in the Benetton at Hockenheim. Perhaps personal tragedy sharpens concentration? Did the Schumacher's know she was on death's door? If they had then it probably would have been best to skip the meet altogether and spend her last hours with her. I know that is what I'd do if it were my mother. On the other hand if it was unexpected then nothing would have been accomplished by not racing after she passed away. Don't mean to sound insensitive but life (and death) happens to all of us, we're left with no choice but to deal with it the best we can. Schumacher did so and proved he is human. Got nothing to do with how well he drove. |

I respect what you have to say and Im not going to bight your head off nor should anyone else. I usually feel the same way when I see certain things on t.v. that get so much attention but happen everyday (like you said). I cant speak for everyone here but Im saddened by her death because she was the mother of my favorite driver and hero. It was hard for me to be enjoy Michael's victory seeing him so sad.
I wasn't trying to say that her death made him drive better or anything like that. It was that he was able to race with everything going on, put that aside for the duration of the race and win it. |
