Hot Cakes
I was interested in test driving one of these RSX-S's the other day so I went to the dealership. Damn these thing must be going like hot cakes. All the Type-S were sold out and the sales person mentinoed that they only last a couple weeks before they are bought.
I did sit in a base model and I really hope the Type-S has a more 'solid' interior. The quality was pretty bad. |

WoW! You guy's ought to come to Nor. Cal, as I am currently shopping for a base model RSX, however I noticed at two dealers in Sacramento, Niello Acura had no fewer than 11 type-S models in fact they had more (S) models than base ones?? at any rate I observed one in arctic blue, most where fire pepper red or white. Also they are doing everything to get rid of them too! I have been quoted $18700 for a base RSX w/ no leather in eternal blue, I think this is a fair deal and look forward to picking it up this week sometime. But hey if you can't wait check out Niello.com I'm sure they have got your car.

Cross border shopping for cars sucks. First of all they cost more in the US if you just do the usual currency conversion, second you'll get taxed and dutied out the ying-yang.

I've been meaning to head over to the Acura dealer that I buy my parts from to test drive an RSX. They've got a Type S on the lot that they basically use as the test drive car.
As for the surplus at that northern California dealership, I guess it all depends on where you shop. Perhaps a year ago (well, close to it, anyway), I recall one member reporting that at a dealership in Lousiana they had 3 Honda S2000s on the lot, all at base price (just a little over $32,000), and they couldn't give them away!! Amazing, around here if you have one on your lot, consider it sold! And that's with ridiculous dealer mark-ups, say to around $40,000. I remember trying to test drive one at a dealer in the Hartford area (I won't way which one), and they wanted a $5,000 deposit, just to take it for a spin!! |
