Engines for 94 Caravan

Hey everyone, got a question. My dad has a '94 Caravan 4 banger which the motor just went out on with ~90k on it. Not very impressed with the reliability of it. Heard that the engine in the Neon was good for quite a few more miles... He'll probably try and get something used from a salvage yard. I was wondering if I could find a list of compatible engines with this year of Caravan, and the average reliability of them. Thanks!

Well........Mopar makes a 655 CID V-8 that hooks up to stock trannys and such, it has 1140 hp and 960 lb ft torque, talk about a minivan with a punch, haha j/k bout that, it's not street legal and would be a bitch for mileage, but if your doing an engine swap, why not get like the V-6 out of a stratus or intrepid?? Or put the new SRT-4 engine in it, it's got good power

I dunno, something from a ~94ish Caravan in a junkyard. Rebuilt I believe.

Nice RoadRunner, is it yours??
