Thumbs down OMG New Solara Sucks!

WTF is Toyota thinking? This thing looks like junk. I've waited for years for this thing to become something even more distinctive, was hoping on the Lexus Sc for some inspiration. Dang. It looks like a cross between a Grand Prix(cks) and that new altima. Hopefully it will look better in person? I'm never going to trade my 2000 sle in now. Of course the interior of this new one looks great, but who cares? They only added about 25 horsepower, where everybody else is up to the 265-85. Inline is nice, but seems like a big suck for me. Somebody please make me feel better... is a Supra on its way?

i see what you mean...

everyone was expecting it to put out 245hp/260 torque, but it's only 225hp/240 torque... I think it will be evenly matched with the v6 Accord (240 hp/212 torque) but the Maxima is in a class of its own.

The interior is nice, a few toys (gas consumption gauge and such) and now a nav system option, but the exterior is horrid...

It's trying to be so many cars at the same time... the front bumper reminds me of the Matrix, the fog lights are TINY!, the back is something between the sc430 and a fairlady Z, the "torso" area is virtually the same... This should have been released as another Gen 1 model on the Camry5 platform =\ This "redesign" doesn't seem like they did much... no wonder they did it in under two years...

Rumors are rumors... but they said the new v6 Solara's drive train (3mz-fe) (engine/trans) will be the low end option for a future sports car they have been working on... but rumors are rumors! I hope they release a hard top conv. Solara... that's the only way I'd buy this unless it looks way better in person

Thumbs down

Yea, Toyota really went the wrong way this time. I was waiting the 04 to trade my 2000 (25,000 mile only) but, no way.

See my Solara here.
