98 Explorer high revs in gear and stalls in reverse
I have a 98 Explorer that starts fine and idles fine. However when I engage it in reverse it stalls. When I put in drive it it revs high.
Any thoughts? Thanks |

Re: 98 Explorer high revs in gear and stalls in reverse
Looking at a torque converter issue. Getting to that requires removing the tranny, and as long as the tranny is out it is suggested that it be reconditioned.
Wondering about the cost involved and whether it is worth it based on age and miles. About 130,000. The body and interior are in good shape. What to do, oh what to do... Any idea of how many labor hours might be involved? |
