96 contour trunk and locks

I just bought a 96 Contour 5 speed. No problems except the cable for the gas door release is broken. I have to open trunck to release the gas door for now. Now, my trunk will not open. I can't open it with the key or pulling the trunk release. I used wd40 on the lock. No luck. What can I do?

Also, drivers side door sometimes locks itself. I have to unlock, lock and unlock in order to open the door. Previous owner said he couldn't figure out the problem. Sounds like a short. Any ideas?

I'm a single mother and have no clue when it comes to car repairs. Any advice would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!

have you tried reseting the computer by taking neg cable off at the battery for about 15 minutes then hook it back up? it also can be in your alarm system on your key the way your telling us. dose that have a butten in your clovebox or on the door? you also might have someone push down on trunk lid while your turning the key.i about got same problem on my wifes 2006 malibu on the door locks. if none that works take it to a lock smith maybe they can help you out. i live in in. and we got a hayleys lock smith and it might just cost you a couple bucks. but really souds like compter or your key set to the alarm system.
