inner tie rods loose.

Both the inner tie rods are loose. Its as if the bolts loosened up and there's space between the tie rods and the lock plate. This looks pretty simple to change ( new tie rod ends ). is it? or are there some tricky steps or something that I need to do, look out for?

Re: inner tie rods loose.

Just change the rack in a 1996.So this was a little easier for me to change the inners. Anyway I just a kit which is a new set of bushings and the lock plate. It was $9.99 at Pep boys. There is a metal lock plate that hold the bolts pry it out first.Next there is a bolt on each side that you need to take out. Then replace the bushings and put back together. Again I don't know hard this will be to do in the car you may want to consider unbolt the outers too and pull the entire rod out through the wheel well to change the bushings.I know there is not alot of room in there. Hope this helps some.
