Hey i just went to the junkyard today and found an eninge but i don't really know what it is. It is from and Integra RS like 89-90. On the block, it says B16A1 but there is no VTEC. The dist. is on the backside of the engine on the intake cam so i think the engine is JDM. I would say it is a ZC but it says B16A!. Any help? I am pulling the engine monday anyways for $150. Good deal? Thanks

are you sure it didnt say D16A, cause the 86-89 integras came with the d16a1, which doesnt bolt into our cars and no one makes a kit to make it fit.

No, we sparyed some back cleaner on the number and wiperd it off so it is as clear as day. It is a DOHC engine and me and the other guy, bothe honda techs, flipped when we saw B16A1 on the side. When we popped the hood, i thought it was going to be a B18B. Also on our junkyard trip, we found two B20, prelude style, a B21(junky from a prelude), one turbo from a sabb 900 and a 300ZX TT that we are most likely getting the turbos for. When we pull the engine monday, i will get pictures of it.

there are DOHC D series engines. the most common USDM is the D16A1. Other markets have D16A8/D16A9 which is commonly referred to as the JDM equivelant of a DOHC ZC

I stop by monday morning but i swear that the blcok said it was a b16a1 but from what i have been reading, it looks like it might be a d16a1. Did the d16a1 come jdm style, dist. on the intake cam?
