My 3 Studio27 Photoetch sets have arrived: F40, F50, Enzo

I cannot wait to abuse these on my models.

question: how do I know what to paint what? do I need any special advice on painting metal parts?

The ones that replace plastic parts in the kit, just follow the kit instructions. Use a metal primer to prime.

Refer to reference pictures for anything not found in the kit!

How in the world do you use these pieces? I'm pretty sure they are for the brakes, right? Why do the circles overlap?

no prob, i would get it for the brakes alone, since the tamiya's arent drilled at all! and they are on the real car
the rear mesh is f***ing awesome too, much less all the other parts!!!
