why is my engine light on? bad 02 sensor? my mpg is fine

what is that noise?

should i ignore the brake and engine light?

Re: HELP, horrible noise coming from under the hood

Your car does not have a timing belt. Does the noise change as you turn the wheels? Have you checked power steering fluid level?

Would there be any possible way to get a sound clip or video of the noise?

Bring it to autozone or Advance. They scan your car for free. Just make sure you get us the actual code (Pxxxx) and not trust the parts guy with diagnosts. They make comission on parts and are willing to sell you anything even if it doesn't fix the issue. Without the code, the SES light could be on for a million reasons and we could guess all day.

And the Brake light, was it the Red "BRAKE" lights, or the Amber ABS Light?

Re: HELP, horrible noise coming from under the hood

Does the sound your experience sound like marbles in the intake? I remember a lot of people experiencing that particular sound which would slowly go away as the car warmed up. Problem turned out to be the supercharger's coupler. I don't think GM had a replacement part and tried to get you to put a new supercharger on. Aftermarket companies sell couplers that are much better than stock and problem can be fixed with about $50 and a hours time.

As for the check engine light; I would have to know what code its throwing. Go to autozone and have them do a scan for you; then come back on here and post said results.

ABS light will usually come on when fluid is full or a wheel sensor is failing. If the fluid is low I would bet you have a sensor going out ( pretty common ) This will only disable your traction control and abs; it will not effect your breaking other than that.
