Talking 2006 GP Steering Issue

I just bought a 2006 Grand Prix with the 3.8 NA. I have noticed a click in the steering wheel when I push the brake pedal to a certain point. If I pump the brake pedal up and down I can feel a slight click in the steering wheel at a certain point. Is this normal? Also, if I am applying the brakes around a turn it will also click like that.

Is this normal with the ABS? Also, does anyone know of any recalls with the 2006 GP model year?

Thanks for your help.

Re: 2006 GP Steering Issue

It could be normal depending on the amplitude of the noise. In my '08 GXP I get a very minor clicking sound when I apply the brakes with engine off, ignition to ON. I don't feel it in the steering wheel but can feel it with my foot when the brake is applied. Most likely the brake switch used to turn on the rear brake lights and turn cruise control off.

No recalls that I know of off the top of my head but GM does have TSBs (Technical Service Bulletin) out on '04 - '08.
