'97 Bravada Won't Start

I have a '97 Bravada with the 4.3 L engine.

Went to drive to the bank for work the other day and it would not start. Fuel filter just replaced recently, battery is charged and the engine seems to be cranking over fine.

Performed a spark test and have spark, fuel pressure is hitting at 60.

My old man thinks it might be that the injectors are not opening and letting fuel in, which seems resonable because we got gas into the engine and that lit but would not start.

If it is the injectors, what controls them electronically?

The VCM /computer controls injector pulse.
But.
Injectors need 64/65 lbs of fuel pressure on a cold start to squirt fuel.

What is engine cranking fuel pressure?

Will it start with a shot of carb cleaner into intake?

Re: '97 Bravada Won't Start

You might recheck the fuel pressure. 60psi is on the low side for this vehicle. This engine will not start if the fuel pressure is even 2psi low. I think the pressure for this vehicle is 60 to 66psi. Good luck - Anthonyz

It's a '97, so I'll ask.

Do you know if the ignition switch module/harness was replaced?

Do your dash gauges come on with the switch in the "on" position?
