It's been awhile... been working on my waxer side ;)

Bought a "new" C5 convertible Car is a 2003 50th Anniversary (not the 50th anniversary special edition model, but all 2003s are 50th cars). Had 43,xxx miles on it when I got it in January. Car has all options except for having the base suspension package. I specifically wanted a 2001 or newer red/tan/tan 6-speed... nothing else... lots of red/black cars and lots of autos out there. This was 1 of only 3 red/tan/tan manuals that was 2001+ in the whole country that I could find for sale. Went up to Youngwood, PA w/ my buddy's truck/trailer to get it.

Since I can't leave anything stock, the car got some "basic" mods. I'm not going buck wild with this one through; no custom body work, no internal engine mods. Installed a Z06 h-pipe (has 2 cats vs. 4 on the coupe/vert piece) w/ Corsa X-pipe and Corsa Extreme mufflers, a Halltech Venom air intake, Z06 springs and swaybars w/ Koni FSD shocks, new head unit (stereo), aluminum gauge bezels, a C6 Z06 shifter, LAPD tunnel plate (chassis stiffener), and some misc other stuff. Only thing left to do is get it alligned to Z06 specs and get some killer wheels for it.

Intake

Z06 h-pipe w/ Corsa X-pipe

LAPD tunnel plate setup - increases torsoinal rigidity and is ceramic coated to keep the driveline tunnel cooler in the car

Custom visorless trip panel I made for my Z06... no more sun visors

Swapped in gauge bezels

New HU and shifter

Koni FSDs, Z06 sways, and Z06 springs

Flush tail light spacers, diamond cut reverse housing, and a good shot of the Corsas

All buffed up... washed w/ dishsoap, clayed, Meguiar's new Ultimate Compound w/ an orage pad, Menzerna FPII w/ a white pad, then Rejexed.

A couple of pics after yesterday's Habitat 4 Humanity Corvette road ralley/tour

The car ended up making 332 rwhp and 342 ft/lbs w/ the basic mods shown above... some LT headers and a tune could get me to aound 350horse/370tq, but not worth the expense for how I'm using this car. Most of the mods are things I swapped over from my Z06 as i was putting it back toward stock.

Brian,
Focus, racing is life!

Seriously sweet ride. You got the color combination I'd die for. If I ever get that much energy to detail a car, I'll use your procedure. I suspect my wife will shoot me before I'd get it finished.

I really don't enjoy detailing... all said I probably had 15ish hours in this one. But it's the only time I have to buff it to this extent. Now that I have the sirls out and it all sealed up It won't take much to keep it looking nice moving forward.

I was about to pay a local shop to do it, but when I met w/ the owner I just knew I wouldn't be happy w/ his work so I borrowed a buddy's Porter Cable setup and went to town.

Tell my Dad to finish repacking the hubs and we'll be out for NASA this month.

David, this confirms why living half way around the world in New Zealand is sometimes the safe option..............!!

Awesome looking car though Brian. If I ever get bored with the Panoz or the wife forces me to sell it, can you find another Vette this tidy for me? I like the formula of year/colour and manual - works for me (except for all the rain we get in Auckland, is that a 60 second to up top!!).
