2002 Montana fuel guage quit working

I have a 2002 Montana that the fuel guage just started to act up. When I start the van the guage works but after about 5 seconds the guage drops off and the low fuel light comes on and dings a couple times. It has never done this before as it just began yesterday. Any thoughts on what it could be?

"Fuel Gauge Inop/Fluctuates" sounds like a bad connection (from rust or old age) in its C305 connector. For details, surf:

Hope this helps...

On my '02 Silhouette, I ended up having to replace the sending unit on the fuel pump module. Only difficult part was dropping the tank to find 12 gallons of fuel in it when I thought there should have been about 3-4 gallons.
