Exclamation Running like crap after heavy wind and rain

Started my 2006 Forester this morning after a heavy rain and wind for 2 days{ 33000 miles}
It started to sputter for about 5 minutes and then stopped.Now i have a check engine light
that stays on and also the green Cruise light is flashing.Anybody have any ideas what it might be.It runs good now but light is still on.Perhaps wires and plugs need replaced???Also will disconnecting the battery cables reset the check engine light???.Thanks

Re: Running like crap after heavy wind and rain

Disconnecting the battery will not. The cruise will not work with a CEL also. Get the codes checked, probably for a misfire. I've seen anything from a corroded coil post to a bad wire. They're usually pretty solid as far as running goes, not a lot of misfire problems. If it has coil on plug, you might have one not sealing well to the valve cover.

Problem solved.Took car into Subaru and they checked the code.Turns out it was the ignition coil pack .It had a slight crack on the #3 post. Also i had the extended warranty so
it was only $100 deductible and problem solved.Probably a $300+ job without the warranty Thanks for your reply
