2007 Sienna Limited remote programming and transponder key programming

I just purchased a used 2007 Sienna Limited. It came with 1 key and 1 remote. I obtained another remote from the broker but I need to know how to program it.
Also I need to know if I can autoprogram an aftermarket transponder key in the car.
The dealers are extremely expensive. Does anyone have this information for this vehicle?

Re: 2007 Sienna Limited remote programming and transponder key programming

I don't have any transponder type key for my 2003, but I have 2 remote controls that I bought.
The instructions for my 2003 might be different.
1st.....the instructions say that you have to program ALL remotes to be used during the program process, as any previously programed data will be erased.

With the key and all remotes, sit in driver's seat......driver's door is open ALL other doors closed, key is NOT in ignition.

Put key in ignition, then pull it out (do not turn key in ignition)

Within 40 seconds, press the power door lock button on the door LOCK then UNLOCK, 5 times (5 cycles of LOCK/UNLOCK ) at 1 second intervals between each press

Close Driver's door, then open it

Within 40 seconds, again press the power door lock button on door for 5 LOCK/UNLOCK cycles.....and.........

Put Key into ignition and turn the key from LOCK to ON to OFF, then LOCK to ON to OFF again at 1 second interval.

(NOTE.....On my 2003, 2 times put it into Confirmation mode and I found that just 1 cycle worked......so if you try several times and it does not work.....try just 1)
Confirmation mode is when door locks cycle 1 time for each remote that is already programed...and the instructions say that 3 cycles of the key to ON/LOCK does that.

WAIT to hear the door locks automatically cycle between LOCK/UNLOCK 1 or 2 times.

THEN on the 1st remote to be programed, Press BOTH the LOCK and UNLOCK button at the same time for more than 1 second.....and release it.

NEXT, Press either LOCK or UNLOCK button for more than 1 second (only 1 button) and release it.

LISTEN for the power doors to LOCK/UNLOCK 1 time to indicate that the code has been programed.

IF you have another remote to program......ON the next remote...PRESS both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for more than 1 second and release..........then press only the LOCK or UNLOCK button for 1 second and release......and listen for the power locks to cycle 1 time........repeat this process for each remote to be programed.

You are done.
You can program up to a maximum of 4 remotes
If the confirmation code of 1 automatic cycle of the power lockes does not happen, it is not getting any code..(I had this happen and found that I needed 1 cylce of key ON/OFF to make it work as noted above).......if they cycle 2 times.....it was unsuccessful.

The system returns to normal after 20 seconds of no action
OR Key is put into ignition
OR driver's door is closed
OR you program 4 remotes.

I do not know if these steps are the same for your 2007 as they are correct for my 2003.
