WIP - Fiat 500 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari X2 !

Hi everybody !!

I have once again started a new project that means I will be building 2 cars at the same time.. and the victim this time around will be the Fujimi Fiat 500 Abarth that I will be turning into the "Ferrari"-version of this car, the 695 Tributo Ferrari.

Here is a picture of the real car for you too see where I get the inspiration from.

First thing I did was to sand the doorlist on the sides of the car since either the Abarth or the 695 Tributo has it..

After that I wetsanded the bodies and prepared them for color.. which is Tamiya TS8 - Italian Red and Tamiya TS"blabla" - Yellow.

And then I sprayed the rims which is Hobbydesign BBS Challenge wheels.. the real car uses 17" but since that wasn´t available I used 18". I sprayed them with the same color as I used on my Scuderias.

And this is how far I have came into this project so far and I am really happy with it so far.. will look cool beside my Ferrari 430 Scuderia models !

C&C welcome !

// Rickard

Looking good so far!!! I saw a Abarth 500 afew years ago in Rome, such a beautiful car it really stood out in Pearl White, compared to all the Fiat 500s running around everywhere.
Cant wait to see how they turn out

What a nice project, they both look good so far, I like it. I'm curious how you manage to fit the wheels as on my stock 500 the stock rims are so tiny and narrow, so good luck!

Sorry for disturbing you Rickard with my question: is there any progress of this fantastic duobuild? I'm thinking of buying the Tributo Ferrari kit also, your overall opinion as you proceed would make me decide easier to buy or not to. Thank you!

Nice paint! Look good so far.

I'm working on a Mondo Motors metal new Fiat 500 at the moment, for my wife. It's not the best model I've messed with.

Thanks for all the comments !

I have put on the stripes on both of the cars so far.. nothing more.. so no more progress, I´m sorry.. =/

As for the opinion of the kit.. I bought the Fiat 500 Abarth-kit and not the Tributo one.. I have used the decals from a Ferrari 430 Scuderia.. but the kit is good actually.. except the rims.. the rims on this one and the tributo is WAAAAY to small.. they are 17" in real life but the kit provides something more similar to 15" maybe.. So I bought some aftermarket rims and tires from Hobbydesign ! I hope this make any sence?

best regards,

Rickard

Thank you Rickard, I noticed the rims (they are also terrible on my stock 500 kit), so a replacement will solve the problem for sure. Same for the brakes. The steering wheel is also wrong I think and the Tributo has double exhaust tips on both side on the real one, but the kit is the same 1-1 as the normal Abarth version - but not a big deal to fix it. Thanks for the infos and wish you good luck to the build!
