Re: Idle Pulley Noise?

could not hear anything in your video, but i have replaced my idler pulley, its really easy, costed like 25 bucks and doesn't squeak anymore.

just get the belt off, then loosen, remove, and replace the pulley.

Re: Idle Pulley Noise?

Could be your alternator bearings starting to go bad. Had no problem with the audio.

Re: Idle Pulley Noise?

Yeah, the audio is really bad, you need to turn the volume up high.

I know my idler wasn't in the best of shape at the beginning of winter, but like you say the sound almost sounds like to me it is coming from the alternator (unfortunatly).

Tomorrow I get off at 3pm, so while it is still light out, I'll take it apart and see what is going on.

Re: Idle Pulley Noise?

This Saturday spring ahead. Yes that is what it sounded like to me. I put on the good old studio monitor head phones and listened to the recording twice.

Re: Idle Pulley Noise?

definatly the alternator. I cannot even just throw some new bearings into it, the bearings are so bad that the shaft seems bent or wobbling. Time for a new alternator I guess.....

Thanks!
