Diesel fuel in gas tank

Daughter put 6.3 gal diesel in gas tank that had no more 2 gal in it. She started it and moved away from pumps. She later restarted but it started missing (DAAA!). Is there an easy way to purge the system?

Re: Diesel fuel in gas tank

Drain the tank from the bottom and fill with gas. The fuel system should purge itself once the fuel pump starts and flushes the lines with fresh gas.

^ In addition to what Brian suggested, once you drain the diesel fuel and refill with pure gasoline, I would add a fuel injection cleaner to the fuel tank. I have heard good things about Techron by Chevron.
